When there is no current

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

We are so accustomed to accept news, that we do not realise how much they influence our life and how this would change, if some things would disappear suddenly from our daily life.

The electric current is one of these things. Such as for water the we receive it in our house, in our office and in any place in which we find ourselves, and for not having it around us, we must find very isolated rooms.

Of course it is a great victory of the advanced companies, and today we do not realise that up to 60 years ago there was no current in large areas of our country.

In many cases we may live in any case, even if with some discomfort ( “some” is perhaps an euphemism) there are cases where life depends on electric energy and it is therefore essential to guarantee it anyway.

Some examples: hospitals, community, damaged areas. In these cases it is necessary to have electricity even when it cut the normal provision thatoperators ensure almost always.

Therefore there are dull generators or generating sets, electrical machinery more or less large and complex, which can produce electricity in a self-employed way, using fuel (generally diesel or petrol) and that can be arranged for an automatic intervent in case of interruption of electrical service.

Generators may be tiny, to allow the procedure of our appliances or magnificent, to provide energy to big hospitals or entire villages.

They allow to recreate in any point of the earth a condition of life similar to the one which we are used, but also to alleviate fatigue and suffering to people in distress, for example in field hospitals.

The power generator is effectively a machine, even if his purpose is not to work dispelling energy, but producing energy starting from a primary source.

The generator of electricity must respect directives which concern mechanics, electricity, noise and other more specific to be placed in the Community market, because if it is obvious his undoubted utility, it must be obvious first of all its safety for the people who use it.
